Reviews Overview

Most Liked

The Full English Breakfast has garnered rave reviews, with diners praising the generous portions and quality ingredients. Guests appreciate the welcoming staff, who go above and beyond to ensure a pleasant dining experience. The nostalgic charm of the 1940s décor adds a unique touch that many find delightful, making meals feel like a special occasion. The homemade scones and Afternoon Tea options, including the Veterans Afternoon Tea, have become popular choices for those celebrating special moments or enjoying a leisurely meal. Moreover, the café is kid-friendly and offers high chairs and a kids' menu, making it a go-to spot for families.

Most Disliked

Some visitors have noted that reservations are a must for the high tea service, as the ingredients are prepared fresh and tailored to each booking. This can sometimes lead to disappointment when walk-ins do not meet availability. While the ambiance is charming, some might find the seating arrangements a bit tight during busy periods. Occasional noise from larger groups can disrupt the serene experience many seek in a vintage tearoom. Additionally, limited parking options nearby may pose a challenge for some guests, especially during peak times, making it advisable to arrive early or opt for public transport.

Once you step through the door, it's like you've gone back in time in the best of ways: from the decor to the music. The owners are the nicest people who clearly love what they do. We felt very welcome. Even though you are supposed to reserve a high tea beforehand (because they get their ingredients in fresh!), we asked for one on the day and the staff went out of their way to prepare something for us. The food was gorgeous and we really could not have asked for a better spread.

Sharon and Stuart kindly allowed me to book a baby shower in their tea room for my daughter in law this afternoon. From start to finish, the service was fantastic, the food as usual lovely, home made and very tasty, they all made us very welcome even though we virtually took over the tearoom, sorry about that! But we all had an amazing time and would all like to say a huge thank you to Stuart, Sharon and their team for making our afternoon so fantastic. Thank you, 5 star all round ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Been coming here for a few years now and always had a good breakfast. However, latest owners have raised the bar for breakfast now with an excellent full English that comes fully loaded, hot and very tasty ingredients. Will return for another as soon as I am back in the area. Thanks Stuart for a great start to the day.
